Legalese

This is the Out & About Africa disclaimer. This was intended to be, ONLY A FEW LINES but alas, it’s a small bit longer and will likely be updated as we go along. If you have any additional questions after reading through this please contact me directly: outandaboutafrica [at] gmail [dot] com. Thank you!
General:
  • Out & About Africa is published by and reflects the personal views of founder/editor Brandie Maxwell (insert link to the about page) (not my employer or anyone I might be seen to represent, which truly is no one other than myself).
  • Out & About Africa content is not intended to malign any religion, ethnic group, club, organization, company, or individual.  I am ecstatic that Out & About Africa has readers from all over the world and it is not my intent to offend any international and cultural laws/norms with regard to the content and images on this blog.
  • Of course, mistakes are made and in such instances, the mistakes are corrected as quickly as possible and at times a note indicating the correction and/or change is added.  Out & About Africa does reserve the right to supplement or delete parts of the content or imagery without prior announcement.
  • Along with links to external sites, links are provided to downloadables.  Of course the blog accesses each file before providing a link to a file, say a music file; however, the blog is not responsible any damage or harm caused by accessing such files.
  • The information provided on Out & About Africa including sources, information and links may change over time, as such, information, particularly links, provided today may not be accurate tomorrow or next week.  However, every effort is made to keep information accurate and valid so if you notice a broken link or anything else, please notify me via email.

Photography:
  • Out & About Africa uses images and photography of others.  The source and copyright of all such images and photography are credited.  The blog makes every effort to ascertain and credit the original source of all images and photography.
  • Particular attention is given to the copyright and republishing instructions detailed by the author/creator/photographer.  Any deviation from specific instructions is unintentional.
  • Any photos credited as “{Photos: Brandie for Out & About Africa}” or simply “{Photos: Brandie}” are also protected. Violation of these terms constitutes a violation of copyright.
  • It is said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so Out & About Africa acknowledges that everyone will not care for some of the images and photographs highlighted.  These images are not intended to offend, but are intended to give pause and even foster conversations.

Linking Back:
  • If you find something on Out & About Africa and write about it, it would be greatly appreciated if you would note Out & About Africa as the source and credit it on your blog, website, or in the pages of your publication. A link back is always appreciated.
  • As we all know, reposting someone else’s an entire blog post is just so uncool!! As a result, I would greatly appreciate that where posts are short (less than 10 sentences) that you simply link back to the full entry on Out & About Africa.  If on the other hand, it’s a longer post (more than 10 sentences) I would be happy to grant permission, on written request, to publish up to four (4) sentences of text per article per article as long as a link back to the full entry on Out & About Africa is included.  It is just a matter of dropping me an email letting me know which blog post you are interested in reposting and where the abstract will be reposted with the link back and I will get back to you in a timely manner.  I truly appreciate highlights of my posts and link backs.

Design and Layout:
  • My banner design was the result of multiple trials and errors, goofs all over the place, emails to friends asking for opinions and more (i.e. hard work), especially as I am no graphic designer nor do I use fancy software. As a result this is strictly the property of Out & About Africa. You are not permitted to reuse or duplicate it.
  • All text, titles and photo layouts (i.e. collages) are created solely for Out & About Africa and protected by Intellectual Property Rights.

Guest Bloggers/Interviews:
  • Out & About Africa has had a number of guest bloggers and will continue to do so.  The opinion of guest bloggers as well opinions provided in interviews are personal and Out & About Africa is not responsible, nor will be held liable, for the opinions expressed by guest bloggers and/or interviewees.

Comments:
  • Comments are welcomed, although they are screened prior to publishing. I make the best attempt to get comments uploaded as quickly as possible.
  • Comments that are harsh, rude or insulting, written with the intent to advertise, contain profanity, or general spam will be deleted.
  • Comments are the sole responsibility of their writers.
  • Out & About Africa is not responsible, nor will be held liable, for views expressed in blog comments.
