One of the hottest photographers out of Africa these days happens to hail from Burkina. Saïdou Dicko was born in Déou and started out as a herder who would paint images of the shadow of lambs. After a stay in the big city (Ouagadougou), Dicko headed off to Senegal where he has been working since 2005 taking beautiful shadowy pictures of just about anything with a shadow. In 2006, he began showcasing his work and over the years has been exhibited throughout Africa and Europe.
Oh and just in case exhibiting his work wasn't enough, he has a book out - Le voleur d’ombres (translation: The Shadow Thief) - as well....
