When I think about all the things I'd love to see and do whenever I finally get a chance to visit Mali, hiking has never entered my mind as an option. While there isn't a lonely planet guide to hiking Mali, this New York Times article shows that it can be done and one gets to see an amazing part of the country and the culture of the Dogon people.
