Morocco Inspired

Sometimes I forget the interconnected history that Morocco has with the rest of the Middle East, yet rooms like this brings that history to the forefront. At first, I thought the room had a Morocco meets Paris vibe with the floor design and style of the mirror and the cabinet. The chandelier, high ceilings and open balcony transported me to Paris. Yet, flipping through my old issue of Elle Decor (April 2011), it made perfect sense that this room was straight out of Beirut (high on the cities I'd love to visit).

In a complete flip of the switch, the idea of moving a Moroccan carpet from the floor to the bed turns out to be genius! When you add the color play of the carpet to the walls, the whole thing gets even better!
