Hand of a Protester

Without a doubt, 2011 was the year of the protester and there is no protester quite like the Egyptian protester! Here TIME photographer Peter Hapak captures a very unique look at these individuals including showcasing their hands and various objects like tire gas canisters, bullet casings, rubber bullets and more. I find the simplicity of the compositions so powerful, allowing the viewer to see into the micro details of a protest.
