Through the Lens: Sudan in 1947
Despite my lack of vintage photographs on the site, the fact remains that I love them! They provide such an amazing window to the past, allowing us to see how things were during a period that I can't even begin to wrap my head around. It's also great when an image from the past reminds you how much things still remain the same in so many ways.
With that as a backdrop, you can only imagine how much I love these shots by Eliot Elisofon taken in Sudan in 1947!! Of course, Life.com has a gazillion more shots so click over and check them out...
