One of the things that I LOVE finding is positive news about Africa and Africans in the press and today was a treat! Why strolling through Jezebel.com, I found this article about Ivorian designer Felicite Mai that had actually been published by Reuters.
Ms. Mai uses cocoa sacks, (cocoa being the top export of Ivory Coast) to design clothing that is increasingly gaining a wider audience. She believes in a philosophy which she calls "waboua" - 'that everything is useful' and really how can you not admire someone who can take something like a cocoa sack and turn it into something beautiful and useful?!?!
