ÊKÂBÔ Creation

I know yesterday was all about sad post day, but I honestly ended my day on such a happy note! I found this artist that I was SO excited to share with you all that I prepared part of this before turning off the computer in full, excited anticipation of this very moment!

I've realized that it has been a while since I showed any fashion stuff from the continent. One of the blogs I check out - CosWeAfricanWomenAreDoin&DoinItWell - featured this artist yesterday and I just had to highlight her. Laëtitia Eagnignon Akibode is from both Togo and Benin. If you are into big clunky jewelry with beads and stones (like I am), this is definitely the gal for you! I can so imagine any of these pieces adorning my neck!

These are awesome designs!

I also love fashion, and love to feel beautiful with nice clothes and manicured nails and tasteful makeup and cute accessories - no matter where I am in the world. I am constantly amazed at this idea that if you work in and/or with poor communities, it is somehow *bad* to wear nice things and make an effort in your appearance! I feel completely the opposite. If me loving and wearing fashion/clothes/makeup/shoes/etc. equals me feeling beautiful and motivated, then I will feel better about my day and therefore do my job better and inspire people!

At least that's my take on it. :)
BTW, I tagged you a while back on my blog. Check it out - sorry for not linking directly.
