Head Scarves

I was browsing around the internet looking for something completely different when I stumbled on the website The Perfect Touch and got so inspired by their post about scarves. From east to west, north to south, women throughout Africa wear head scarves for religious reasons, fashion, or just as a perfect-way-to-hide-a-bad-hair-day accessory.

I.D. Magazine June 2008 issue.

(random image from the web, but this is what I call SERIOUS!!!)

Anyway...I use to love wearing scarves when I had dread locks, but since cutting all my hair off, I've found it a bit difficult to tie....but really that's just my own lack of skills because my Nigerian friend who has equally short hair can whip a wrap around her head in nanoseconds.
Me in Zanzibar last year totally clashing but I LOVE this material, I had just bought it in a market and decided to wrap my hair up!

How do you tie scarves like that?! I love the pics! I want to learn how to tie it like in the first pic and the last two. Beautiful.

Can you help?

Looking at your fourth image, do you know where I could find directions or maybe you yourself could advise me on how to wrap my hair like that? I think that it is so beautiful! I have looked forever for some sort of information on how-to! xox beautiful pictures and blog regardless.

(You can reach me at sarawrawresome@yahoo.com if you have any information)

Thank you!
