Lizz Wright

Early this week I discovered two amazing things. First, I found out all about Pandora.com which is a free online radio station. You choose an artist and it creates an entire playlist with similar music and you can have as many stations as you want. When you sign on, great music immediately start streaming into your ear. It's AWESOME!

One of the artists I found through this source is Georgian born and bred Lizz Wright. She has been out since 2003 and her most recent album The Orchard, is really fantastic. Whether singing her own beats or covering songs by the likes of Led Zeppellin or Carol King, she makes each song her very own. On her cover of Eden Ahbez's Nature Boy she sings alone with just a drummer and turns this 1940s song into something completely new and unique. In addition to loving this acoustic version of her recent track My Heart, I'm also loving Hit the Ground and her cover of Neil Young's Old Man.

Hope you enjoy and have a good weekend!
