Sounds of Africa: Pata Pata - Remixed

We all know that it can be a "hit or miss" scenario when someone tries to put a new spin on an old tune that was done so well by the original artist. When the tune is one of my favorites, Pata Pata by Miriam Makeba who I've blogged about before, well the level of concern is heightened. Luckily, Brazilian singer Daúde knew just how to fuse the original beats of the songs with her own Brazilian flare. The result is a song you still know and love but presented in a new and fun way!

Love this! I probably had thoughts similar to yours...really, who can remix Mariam Makeba's Pata Pata?? This artist did a great job.

Have you ever listed to Club Sodade, the remix album of Cesaria Evora's biggest hits? It is one of my all-time favorite albums. http://www.amazon.com/Club-Sodade-Remixes-C%C3%A9saria-%C3%89vora/dp/B00009YH0Z

Funny, I heard this song before Makeba was even on my radar! I remember thinking, "Wow, my Portuguese is really sh*t because I can't understand half of the words!"
