A few deaths
By the time I crossed the compound to my desk this morning, a soldier had been stabbed in town and 8 others had been killed in acts of vengeance. The town was completely still with shops and bars closed and no one walking the streets (this from the camp manager who went to investigate). Whenever I think I'm under 'normal' circumstances, things like this act as a mini wake-up call that one still has to be careful here as anything can still happen. I am also reminded that at the end of the day, I'm just a visitor here and can leave immediately in case of danger, those living here actually have to deal with this all the time!
